چکیده

Background: Intraarticular distal radius fractures are commonly seen of the upper extremity showing bimodal distribution in pediatric and elderly adults. The age fracture is typically peaks 5-14 year group also patients more than 60 years age. Aim: To compare functional outcome intraarticular treated with k wire versus conservative management. Material methodology: study was conducted between July 2020 to December 2021 department orthopaedics, RMMCH, 20 were included study. 10 wire/ligamentotaxis wire, methods. Follow up done for a minimum period 6 months, assessed using Quick DASH Scoring system. Results: 12.9, which found be better 17.49. No poor group. 2 had Malunion malunion Superficial pin site infection one patient. Stiffness 1 patient 3 group. Conclusion: In our study, results managed surgical intervention by percutaneous fixation K method closed reduction cast immobilisation.

A Comparative Study of Functional Outcome in Operative Treatment versus Conservative Treatment in Fractures of Distal End Radius in Adults

Fracture distal end of radius is an injury seen with high frequency, representing approximately one sixth of all fractures seen in emergency departments. We compared operative treatment with conservative treatment of fractures of distal end radius in 25 cases each. Patients were divided into two groups, non-operative and operative. In operative group various procedures like percutaneous pinning...

Dorsal nail plate versus percutaneous k-wire fixation in the treatment of displaced distal radius fractures.

Distal radius fractures are the most common fractures in the elderly, yet the treatment is controversial and still debated in the literature. Twenty four patients aged older than sixty with distal radial fractures were treated by dorsal nail plate. We compared them with twenty four similar matched patients treated by percutaneous Kirschner wiring surgical method. The patients were operated on b...

Management of distal radius fractures.

T he discovery of the x-ray was 80 years away when Irish surgeon Abraham Colles published his paper about fractures of the "distal extremity of the radius." He had no idea about the possible intra-articular component of this fracture, but he knew that the fracture was unstable and frequently settled back to the deformity that "will remain undiminished through life."l The management of this very...

DISPLACED- COMMINUTED INTRAARTICULAR FRACTURES OF THE ADULT DISTAL HUMERUS: FUNCTIONAL RESULTS AFTER INTERNAL FIXATION

Background: Intra-articular T- type or Y- type fractures of the distal end of the humerus are relatively rare, and consequently few surgeons will be able to attain extensive experience with the surgical treatment of these injuries. The current emphasis is on operative intervention with rigid internal fixation and early mobilization. Methods: In this prospective and retrospective study, we r...
